Staying in a local neighborhood adds an Aruban flavor to your stay
Birds don't seem to sit still for long on the happy island. Every once in a while one stays long enough for you to fully appreciate its beauty. Too often, it's a lovely song from somewhere in the foliage. Sometimes it's a fleeting view of someone very small. But you may also see them resting on a branch in the garden or even building a nest in the palm trees by the pool. They are all part of the Aruban charm.
Aruba's iguanas and other lizards only munch on flowers and other plants. They are too shy to let you approach and could never be a danger to visitors. We just enjoy watching them before they scamper off.
Aruba's dogs are their own little culture. They amuse us. Sometimes they trot up the street with the swagger of young teens looking for approval. Sometimes they start shouting (barking). Mostly, they lie quietly trying not to get overheated.
